Dr. Richard Mitchell (retired) is a Louisville native who began his vascular surgery practice in 1978. His vascular training was completed at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He is board certified in General and Vascular Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Mitchell is registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers as a vascular technician. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Mitchell’s surgical interests include operations for the prevention and treatment of stroke, peripheral artery bypass procedures, arterial aneurysms, venous disease and endovascular surgery including stent-graft repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms and arterial occlusive disease.
