Dr. Salem George is a native of Lebanon, Kentucky who began his vascular surgery practice in 1990. He is a graduate of the University Of Louisville School Of Medicine. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Tennessee in 1989. He went on to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas to complete his Vascular Fellowship in 1990.
Dr. George is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. George’s surgical interests include surgery for the prevention and treatment of stroke, peripheral artery bypass procedures for arterial occlusive disease and aneurysms, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, varicose vein procedures and endovascular surgery for stent-graft repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms and occlusive disease. He also performs endovenous laser ablation of varicose veins in the office and laser treatment and sclerotherapy of spider veins at Ultimate Vein Care.
Dr. George practices primarily at Baptist Health Louisville. He is co-director of the non-invasive vascular lab at Baptist East. He participates with most insurance companies including Medicare.
